Notice of the Launch of the European Union Global Climate Change Alliance ProjectSep 17, 2012
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is pleased to advise members of the media of the launch of the Project “Enhancing Belize’s Resilience to Adapt to the Effects of Climate Change” funded by the European Union (EU) - Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA).
The European Union project aims to enhance adaptive capacity and resilience to climate change in national policies and demonstrate action in support of effective governance of climate change and climate change related impacts in the water sector in Belize. The total cost of the project will be €3,170,746, with €2.9 M being provided by the European Union (EU) and €270,746 being GoB / UNDP co-financing; the project will be implemented over a 28 month period from 2012 to 2014.
The launch will include a presentation on the project and remarks by representatives from the respective organizations, with an opportunity for individual interviews by the media following the launch ceremony.
